Even before the game, it was clear that the winners of this match will be able to take the first place in the tournament table, at least temporarily. The match was started by the owners of the field, who had already taken the lead with 2: 0 in the sixth minute. Matīss Salmiņš and Arvis Kārkliņš threw the ball into the guest goal. However, even before the break, the result was still undecided, because the goalkeepers of Cēsis – Jorens Malkavs and Kaspars Lisovskis – 2: 2

In the 27th minute, Rūdis Jermacāns put the Cēsis team in the lead again – 3: 2, but in the second half of the second third, after the throws of Pāvels Semjonovs and Raita Ozols, the Valmiera team took the lead for the first time – 4: 3. The result did not change until the 56th minute, but then Kevin Schmidt once again restored the draw – 4: 4. In the 57th minute, Kārkliņš put the home team in the lead again (5: 4), however, they failed to protect their minimum advantage, because in the next minute Emīls Dzalbs returned the hopes of Cēsis to a favorable result – 5: 5. No goal was scored in overtime, but success was in the away side in the post-match throws.

Markus Plūdums went to protect the goal of the Cēsis team, who repelled all four opponents’ throws, but Kristiāns Miezītis and Jānis Rajeckis threw a “bull” for the benefit of his team, ensuring “Lekrings” victory with 6: 5 and two points in the tournament table.

“Lekrings” with 33 points in 13 matches takes the first place, the second with 32 points in 14 battles is “Orange” / “Oxdog Ulbroka”, but the third with 32 points in 15 games is “Valmiera”. It is expected that after the regular championship “play-off” the first round or quarterfinals will be up to two victories of one team, but later in the final four-tournament the champions will be determined, which is planned to be done by Midsummer.

It is also planned that the final this season will not take place in “Arena Riga”, but in one of the Olympic centers in the regions. There are 12 teams playing in the men’s tournament this season, and eight teams in the women’s tournament.
