Today Bank Indonesia (BI) launched a new special money. This money was made in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the special money issued is not new money circulating freely in the community or used for the implementation of economic activities.
“This money is specifically for commemorating events, namely in commemoration of the 75th Indonesian Independence Day,” Sri Mulyani said in a virtual press conference, Monday (17/8/2020).
The special money was issued in the form of banknotes with a nominal value of IDR 75,000. The number of sheets printed is 75 million sheets.
This news itself has been sounding boisterous since yesterday. There has also been speculation about the type and amount of money that will be launched.
On social media, pictures of new rupiah banknotes with a nominal value of IDR 75,000 were spread. According to the scattered pictures, the Rp. 75,000 note is red with a combination of white and green. The faces of Sukarno and Mohammad Hatta were plastered.
Then on the other side there is a picture of a row of children wearing traditional clothes from various regions in Indonesia. Also complete with the signature of the Governor of BI and the Minister of Finance.
