“Thank you very much for the students of Gyeonggi University who listened and understood while protesting.”

Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myeong posted on Facebook on the afternoon of the 14th. On the morning of that day, he made an emergency mobilization measure to the dormitory of Gyeonggi University and visited the university to use it as a living treatment center for the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), and encountered a protest from students.
Governor Lee said, “As it is an emergency situation, the provincial governor needed an emergency response, but the students living in the current dormitory must have a great deal of concern. It’s because the final exam is ahead, and there are some students who live in the dormitory right away and do work.”
“As you know, I am not afraid of this situation. Because there is a belief in the rationality of citizens. Even if you are angry right now, if you explain it carefully and say it with all your heart, in the end, there will be a space for mutual discussion.”
– He also told the stories he told the students who blocked him. “Securing a bed is to save people, but there is no reason to do it while hurting you, there will be a place where students with unavoidable circumstances can stay, and a communication window between Gyeonggi-do and students will be created. I carefully explained the points, etc.”
Governor Lee also said, “Surprisingly, our students listened and understood. They shook hands and gave way,” he said. As it was decided urgently, if there is any misunderstanding, you can accurately guide and consult. It is a very natural landscape of a democratic society. “I am grateful to the young men who confidently spoke and discussed their self-assertions and finally gave me understanding.”
Governor Lee said, “The reason we can keep hope in the midst of the 3rd pandemic that exceeds 1,000 people is because there are citizens with good will and reasonable attitude toward each other.” “Believing in the greatness of the collective intelligence, We will take the lead in quarantine with a sense of speed.”
