An eight-month-old boy died on Saturday 11 April in Tricase, in the province of Lecce, after being bitten in the head by the dog that the parents kept at home, on the outskirts of the village.

As far as we learned, it would be a Corsican dog, belonging to the Molossian group and considered guard animals. The tragedy would take place at dinner time in the garden, in the presence of the mother and grandmother, who immediately rescued the child, bringing him toCardinal Giovanni Panico hospital in Tricase, where doctors could not do anything to save the children. The police are investigating the episode, while the dog was taken over by the local ASL veterinary service.
