The lawyer in charge of the case of the LeBaron family massacre was killed in Mexico on Thursday, authorities reported.
Abel Murrieta, a lawyer for the Lebaron family and a mayoral candidate, was murdered in Obregón, Mexico, allegedly by a man who shot him about 10 times.
Adriana LeBaron and one of her daughters are devastated by this new twist that their legal battle has taken after the murder of Abel Murrieta.
The lawyer Murrieta would have arranged to meet Adriana LeBaron at 11:00 am in Tijuana because they had to give him information and it could not be by phone, but this never happened.
Adriana LeBaron expressed “my family is in mourning again. Abel helped us a lot in our battle to find justice. He was a man of conviction willing to help make Mexico a better one. It was a great loss for my family and our country ”.
The attorney’s funeral process will take place on Friday afternoon.
