“Lebanese Community in Sudan Thanks Prime Minister and Foreign Minister for Successful Evacuation”

The head of the Lebanese community in Sudan, Saadallah Mikati, issued a statement in which he said: “I extend my thanks, in my name and on behalf of the Lebanese community in Sudan, to His Excellency Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib, Secretary General of the High Relief Commission Major General Muhammad Khair, and Lebanon’s Ambassador to Sudan Dima Haddad. Lebanon’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Fawzi Kabbara, Lebanon’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Fouad Dandan, Lebanon’s consul in Jeddah, Walid Minkara, and all concerned parties for the success of the evacuation of the Lebanese nationals in Sudan.

The statement added, “This operation has proven that the state has a major role in protecting and caring for its citizens abroad, and that it attaches great importance to their safety and protection.”

He continued, “We would like to express our sincere thanks to the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their interest and assistance in evacuating the Lebanese community from Khartoum to Port Sudan.”

And he continued, “We also thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for evacuating all members of the Lebanese community from Port Sudan to Jeddah and for hosting them in the city of Jeddah until they leave for Beirut, and we thank everyone who helped make this operation a success, and our great appreciation for the great efforts that were made in this regard.”
