KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The financial giant from the United States (US) Citigroup Inc plans to exit the retail business in 13 Asian markets and regions of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Citi will begin the process of selling the Consumer Bank business following the announcement that Citi will exit the Consumer business in 13 countries, including Indonesia. However, Citi emphasized that there was no immediate change in serving Consumer Bank customers in Indonesia.

Citi Indonesia will continue to operate in Indonesia through the unit Institutional Clients Group (ICG), among others TTS (Treasury and Trade Solutions), MSS (Markets and Securities Services / Custodian), BCMA (Banking Capital Market Advisory) for institutional customers consisting of local companies, government and State-Owned Enterprises, financial institutions and multinational companies, CCB (Citi Commercial Bank), and capital market services through PT CSI (Citigroup Sekuritas Indonesia).
CEO of Citi Indonesia Batara Sianturi stated that Citi has a strong and profitable consumer business in Indonesia. Also has a very skilled and dedicated team.
“Citi will always strive to provide the best possible results for our customers and employees,” he said in a press release, Sunday (18/4).
Batara added that the sales process will take time and Citi will strive for a strategy process that is carried out prudently and systematically.
