The Lotto Belgium Tour for women has created a special place for the Wall of Geraardsbergen. The famous cobblestone hill is conquered several times and the finish is on the Vests final day. The other stages of the stage race have also been presented.

Due to the revised calendar, the Lotto Belgium Tour has been shortened from four to three days. This is because the round is scheduled in the middle of the week between the Amstel Gold Race and Gent-Wevelgem (October 10 and 11) and the Tour of Flanders (October 18).

Cobblestones as a test for Paris-Roubaix
The opening stage consists of five rounds of 26 kilometers around Galmaarden in Flemish Brabant. The local circuit has some cobblestones and climbs of the Bosberg, the Congoberg and the Bergstraat. On the second day, a mass sprint seems inevitable when the peloton drives from Blankenberge to Bruges.

Geraardsbergen is visited for the final drive of over 100 kilometers. After two rounds of 33.2 kilometers, two more circuits of 17.1 kilometers follow, each containing the Muur. Bosberg and Denderoordstraat are also being suppressed. “The ladies are faced with a lot of cobblestones, ideal for testing with a view to Paris-Roubaix on October 25,” says organizer Tom Thienpont.

‘Not too difficult course’
“We have put together a nice round with a course that fits in well with the busy period that the riders will face at the end of October,” says Thienpont. “We chose not to make our race too hard and because we organize a stage less, the riders also get enough rest. We offer a course with slopes and cobbles, but there is also a flat stage. ”

Driving schedule Lotto Belgium Tour 2020 (October 13-15)
Stage 1: Galmaarden – Galmaarden (133.5 km)
Stage 2: Blankenberge – Bruges (119 km)
Stage 3: Geraardsbergen – Geraardsbergen (100.6 km)
