Leader of Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes). Panji Gumilang fulfilling the summons of the Bareskrim Polri to undergo a clarification examination regarding reports of alleged blasphemy. The inspection had been going on for about seven hours since Panji Gumilang’s arrival.

Previously, Panji arrived at Bareskrim at around 13.50 WIB this afternoon. He came wearing a blue top with a cap. Meanwhile, Panji clarified in his capacity as a witness to the report.

Panji came accompanied by several bodyguards. Panji seemed speechless, he just waved and gave the media crew a thumbs up.
Chaos had occurred when Panji’s group arrived at Bareskrim. The stampede and argument between Panji’s bodyguards and the media crew had occurred just before Panji went up to the examination room.
For information, the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) is in the spotlight because of the issue of alleged heretical sects in it. In fact, rumors circulated that there were allegations of criminal acts by individuals at the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School.
It is known that this Islamic boarding school was led by Panji Gumilang. The series of controversies at the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School also made a number of parties urge that the Islamic boarding school be investigated.
At Bareskrim itself, there are two police reports (LP) against Panji Gumilang. The first report was filed by the Pancasila Defender Advocate Forum (FAPP). The DPP FAPP report is registered with the number: LP/B/163/VI/2023/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI.
Then the second report was made by NII Crisis Center Founder Ken Setiawan. Report registered with number LP/B/169/VI/2023/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI dated 27 June 2023.
In the two reports, Panji was accused of violating Article 156 A of the Criminal Code on Blasphemy of Religion. The National Police said the two reports had been combined into one for investigation.
