A waterfall at the opera
In 2009, the artist Stéphane Thidet had introduced a pack of wolves in the moats of the castle … This time, he will play with water. The ephemeral work imagined by the Parisian visual artist promises to be one of the symbols of this 2020 edition. Entitled Curtain, this huge waterfall will cover the facade of Graslin, the 18th century theatere century from downtown Nantes.
The waterfall will rise from one of the monument’s upper ledges to smash against the steps of the opera house, before finishing its course in a vast pool. “This gigantic curtain of water is a metaphor for the theatrical accessory”, slips Marie Dupas, one of the programmers in charge of Voyage à Nantes.
A bed on the Order
