Le Matin – Twenty collectives of Al Quds associations and NGOs welcome Morocco’s commitment to the causes of the Ummah, notably the Palestinian cause, under the leadership of HM the King

Morocco has always played a pioneering role in defending the cause of Palestine and the inalienable rights of its people. This role was again praised by the Palestinians. Taking part in a consultation meeting organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, around twenty collectives of associations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) of Al-Quds, social actors, teachers, experts and researchers in the fields of health and education have expressed their support for the initiatives and programs planned by the Agency in the Holy City.

Morocco’s commitment to the causes of the Ummah, notably the Palestinian question, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Acharif Committee, was again welcomed by the Palestinians. Indeed, about twenty collectives of associations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) of Al-Quds, social actors, teachers, experts and researchers in the fields of health and education, speaking on Saturday during a remote consultation meeting, organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency between Rabat and the city of Al-Quds, praised the Kingdom’s constant positions.
Taking place on the theme “New model of building partnerships in Al-Quds through the electronic platform of projects”, this meeting was an opportunity for these different actors to praise the intense efforts made by the Sovereign in order to preserve, anchor, promote and extend Moroccan roots to Al-Quds, as a way to support, support and preserve the Palestinian presence in this city. In this regard, they highlighted the honorable position of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, which took the initiative to support vital sectors in the city of Al-Quds in the context of the spread of the Covid- 19, namely health, education and social assistance, through a large in-kind donation for the benefit of hospitals, students and needy families. Speaking at this meeting, the director responsible for the management of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al Acharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, said that the Agency is determined to simplify the procedures and facilitate the conditions for financing projects and proposals that she will receive via her electronic platform dedicated to projects on her official website. The official also recalled that the Kingdom has taken, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, proactive measures and put in place the necessary measures to mitigate the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic, noting that the epidemiological situation in Al -Qods and Palestine is subdued, thanks to the will and determination of the Palestinians.
Returning to the Agency’s investments in Al-Quds since its creation, Mr. Salem Cherkaoui said that these investments reached $ 60 million, distributed among various sectors and structuring projects. These projects are being monitored in the field, said the same official, stressing that “the pandemic has prompted the Agency to update its order of priority according to the amount of funding it has”. In this regard, Mr. Cherkaoui said that “the Agency is making efforts to support human development programs, especially those related to women, children and youth, while dealing with other issues, such as projects for the preservation of the Palestinian heritage and cultural and intellectual issues ”.
For their part, the collectives involved in this meeting affirmed that the launch by the Agency of an electronic platform of projects, via its website, is likely to facilitate communication and offer maximum opportunities for associations. In this regard, they welcomed the commitment of this body to simplify the procedures and conditions for financing projects in Al-Quds. They also expressed their support for the initiatives and programs planned by the Agency to upgrade the Holy City and promote the situation of its population, which have an impact in terms of protecting the city and preserving its geographical and ecological balance , especially in view of the unprecedented challenges it faces due to the policy of restrictions, blockade, Judaization, colonization, expropriation of goods and land and overtaxation of the population. The director of the Al-Quds Center for Economic and Social Rights, Zied El Hammouri, praised the efforts of HM King Mohammed VI to preserve and consolidate the roots of Morocco’s presence in Palestine, in particular in Al-Quds, welcoming in this regard the role that Morocco plays in the unwavering support to the Palestinians, including the creation of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency. Other participants also underlined the qualitative Moroccan presence in Al-Quds, which will be reinforced by the commissioning of the Moroccan cultural center in the Medina, concretely illustrating the clear and frank commitment in favor of the defense of the Holy City and its Arab Islamic holy places, reiterating their adhesion to carry out all the initiatives of the Agency and other bodies working for the protection of the legitimate right of the Palestinians in Al-Quds and the support of the resistance of its population and its different institutions.
