It is therefore with a performance with high artistic demands, but with saving accessibility, that the local branch of the JMF (Jeunesses musicales de France) Aurillac-Arpajon-sur-Cère has decided to start its traditional concert season for schoolchildren in the area. “There are twelve volunteers at the association, all retired teachers,” explains president Arlette Montchauzou, accompanied, Wednesday morning during the second performance, by Jean-Marc Souquière, the treasurer (Sophie Marsan is the secretary). “We organize three series of concerts every year, each of which is given four times. Basically, the shows are seen by around three thousand schoolchildren.”
Quality requirements
Every year, JMF France offers regional auditions. “It’s a time when we can see excerpts from many companies’ shows. And last year, I fell in love with Taxi Folly,” explains Jean-Marc Souquière with a smile. “Because we have quality requirements”, shared at the national level. Thanks to an exclusive partnership with the Aurillac theater and National Education, schoolchildren can attend quality shows in professional conditions.
Stable numbers in public schools
“Each show is accompanied by an educational booklet that we provide to teachers,” explains Arlette Montchauzou. With this booklet, they can work upstream or downstream around the show. » During the confinements, the association was able to involve artists in several classes. An operation which was appreciated by both teachers and students.

Taxi folie was offered to middle school students. The next concerts will take place on Monday January 29 and Tuesday January 30, for schoolchildren in the major section and preparatory classes, with The Shepherd of Sounds. Then Monday March 25 and Tuesday March 26 for elementary school students with Lubulus and Alaïs.
