BVSunday afternoon at the Elckerlyc theater in Antwerp the premiere of “The Phantom of the Operetta”, a comic comedy starring Hugo Sigal (74) and Celien Hermans (29), among others. Many famous people appeared on the red carpet and everyone was looking forward to this witty farce full of chaos and personal change.
In ‘The Phantom of the Operetta’ two cousins (Luc Caals and Dirk Van Vooren) are reunited by the notary (Dirk Lavrysen) in the old and dilapidated operetta theater of their deceased great-aunt. There they hear rather surprising news: they suddenly become the new owners of this empty theater. One problem: they don’t want it. One wants to sell it right away, the other wants to turn it into a garage.
To make matters worse, they cannot move forward without the approval of their third cousin cousin (Hugo Sigal), of whom no one knows where this strange bird lives and lives. Let’s put in an annoying aunt (Martine de Jager), a simple fan (Celien Hermans), a strange stage manager (Bert Cosemans) and a crude contractor (Maarten Bosmans), and we are left with a farce full of chaos, confusion of people. , romance and witty hilarity.
