For the second time in a year, the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum will have a magnificent light installation walking trail “Winter Light Garden”. Trejdeviņi”, which will take place from December 15, 2023 and continue into January 2024.
Latvian songs, fables, beliefs and fairy tales serve as inspiration for the creative team of the walking trail and for the Latvian lighting artists.
“The walking trail of light installations “Winter Light Garden” is taking place for the fifth time, for the second year its home is the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum, which is a unique place for creating light stories, because the authentic ethnographic and non-urbanized environment of the museum allows artists to express themselves creatively, gives the opportunity to create unprecedented light experiments, therefore this time the light walk is expected to have both artistic and technological surprises. This year we will go underground, fight mosquitoes, solve riddles, listen to bees singing at the Solstice, plant a miracle bean and enjoy a magical world on a colorful walk”, says Mārcis Gulbis, the author and organizer of the trail idea.
Animals will not be allowed on the walk. Visitors are invited to bring a good mood and weather-appropriate clothing.
