Thomas finds solace in recording his feelings in the Book of All, and in the fantasy where Jesus comes to life and helps the boy gather the courage to face the aggressor.

The film is planned as a co-production of two countries – the Netherlands (studios Kaap Holland Film and Fatt Production), Latvia (White Picture). The film is co-financed by the National Film Center.

Ineke Houtmane is an experienced director who has repeatedly screened the works of the popular Dutch writer Gus Kuijer, including the children’s films “Polleke” (2003) and “Madelief” (1998), which were once selected for Berlin and won awards at important festivals. Probably the biggest star in the film’s ensemble is Katja Herbers, known to viewers from the series Westworld, Manhunt, Manhattan and The Leftovers, but the Dutch production company Cape Holland Film a Fatt Production experience of many world-renowned projects – such as a studio Cape Holland Film has worked as a minority co-producer on Dunkirk, which has received more than 60 awards (including three Oscars and one BAFTA).
