Latest List of Types of Basic Child Immunizations, There are 3 Additional Vaccines

Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) added three vaccine must be on the list routine immunization of children. Total, starting this year child must get 14 mandatory immunizations.

The three vaccines are vaccines Pneumococcal Conjugate (PCV), vaccine Rotavirusand vaccines Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The following is a complete list of the types of basic childhood immunizations.

Routine immunization itself is a program run by the government. This means that the vaccine will be given free of charge to children.

Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said immunization was the most appropriate and inexpensive way to prevent maternal and child mortality.

“Vaccination is one of the health interventions that is cheaper and more effective than intervention when someone has to undergo treatment in a hospital,” said Budi at the World Immunization Week press conference at the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Jakarta, some time ago.

With the addition of three new vaccines, children are now required to receive 14 immunizations. The following is a list of types of basic childhood immunization, complete with the addition of new vaccines, taken from the official Instagram of the Ministry of Health.

1. Immunization of infants aged 0-11 months

– HB vaccine 0 1 dose to prevent hepatitis;
– 1 dose of BCG vaccine to prevent tuberculosis (TB);
– 3 doses of DPT-HB-HiB vaccine to prevent diphtheria, perusis, tetanus, hepatitis, pneumonia, and meningitis;
– 4 doses of polio vaccine drops (OPV) to prevent polio;
– Injectable polio vaccine (IPV) 1 dose;
– 1 dose of rubella measles vaccine to prevent measles and rubella;
– 3 doses of PCV vaccine to prevent pneumonia, meningitis, and inflammation of the ear;
– JE vaccine (Japanese Encephalitis) 1 dose to prevent inflammation of the brain caused by the JE virus.

2. Immunization of toddlers aged 18-24 months

– 1 dose of DPT-HB-HiB vaccine;
– 1 dose of rubella measles vaccine;
– 1 dose PCV vaccine;
– Vaccine JE 1 dosis.

3. Immunization of primary school age children

– Measles rubella and DT vaccines for children in grade 1 SD/MI to prevent rubella measles, diphtheria, and tetanus;
– DT vaccine for children in grades 2 and 5 SD/MI;
– 2 doses of HPV vaccine in 5th and 6th grade elementary school children to prevent uterine cancer.

Some vaccines such as PCV, JE, and HPV have only been implemented in certain areas. The JE vaccine is specifically given to children in West Kalimantan.
