At first Daniela considered herself gay. She didn’t talk about her feelings to anyone, so for a long time she couldn’t fit in or understand.
“Then the day came when the thought occurred to me and I was shocked and thought, no, that doesn’t make sense because I’ve lived 20 years as a gay man.” she stated, saying it only took a short moment for her to see a happy couple on the street and it all came to her mind.
“Then I cried terribly for about a month. And then I was just terribly happy, because I needed to vent everything.” Spinar said.
“My brain is wired female and my body has masculine characteristics plus testosterone. “That’s when I fell into absolute hell emotionally. I didn’t really know what was happening to me, because I was doing it, when I was the artistic director of the National Theater for seven years, I was losing my career, all the white privileged men they were angry, and I started going to psychotherapy, where I learned within two months that I had indeed experienced this DAMU twenty years ago as a woman, but I didn’t know I was a woman at the time” Daniela, who spoke about the university some time ago, told her story.
“The four years at DAMU, especially when you are openly gay, were difficult.
