THREE Two separate investigations were carried out about the incident in Bursa years ago. After working as a district governor in various districts for a while, the investigation of Çiftçi, who was appointed as the governor of Kırklareli, was carried out by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office, while the investigation of the other 4 people was carried out by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the documents in the two separate case files, the incident developed as follows: Orhan Çiftçi (54), who served as the Governor of Mudanya between 2011-2017, worked in the district municipality. However, Özkalfa did not accept this situation and he frequently called the district governor by phone. There was swearing in the phone calls between the two.
Farmer, thinking that the incident started to give him trouble, to the people he knew in Sakarya, news he went to Bursa. 4 people, farmers and accompanying women reached Bursa on 8 May 2017. Özkalfa went to the place they agreed with Çiftçi. The first tension between the parties occurred at this meeting place. Minutes later, Çiftçi and his accompanyers took Özkalfa to the place known as Balat Forest Area.
The police made an investigation in the forest area in Bursa Balat, where the incident took place.

The suspect caused the complainant to be humiliated by kissing the bottom of his foot. Then, the complainant was released ”.
The farmer, whose testimony was taken as part of the investigation, rejected the charges. A lawsuit was filed against the farmer in Istanbul 4th High Criminal Court with a request for imprisonment for a period of 5 years to 18 years. The farmer was taken to the center after the incident.

4 people will be judged in Bursa
Erdal Avçil, who was accused of taking Özkalfa to the forest area with Orhan Çiftçi, was filed against Funda Sesli, Davut Aksu and Osman Kaymak, with a request for prison terms of up to 10 years. The trial of the defendants will be held at the Bursa Criminal Court of First Instance. The first hearing is in April.
