Las Cabezas de San Juan Municipal Elections 2023: Results, Winners, and Voter Turnout

With Andalusia, he has obtained 44.2% of the votes and 9 councilors that give him an absolute majority in the Las Cabezas de San Juan City Council. The PSOE is left with 38.9% of the votes and seven councilors. The Popular Party corporation closes with a councilor and 8.6% of the votes.

The residents of Las Cabezas de San Juan chose this May 28th the 17 councilors who will form the municipal government. The almost 13,000 cabezeños who are called to the polls will have to decide whether to revalidate Francisco José Toajas Mellado (PSOE), who obtained an absolute majority in the last elections, as mayor for the third time.

In the Cabezas de San Juan there were five lists for the 2023 municipal elections. The municipality has a population of 16,386 people. In the last municipal elections, the electoral census was made up of 12,996 people, of whom they abstained 5.799 personas. The most voted forces then were PSOE (4.186), Forward Andalusia (1.277), Active Neighbors around Las Cabezas (VAC) with 946, PP (511) and Citizens (85).

The cabezeños had to choose between five candidacies: PSOE, With Andalucía Izquierda Unida, Vecinos Activos por Las Cabezas (VAC), PP and VOX. Francisco Jose Toajas Mellado (PSOE), tried to revalidate the third absolute majority. Then it was the second force, with only 3 councilors, Izquierda Unida Los Verdes, VAC, with two councilors was the third and the PP got only 1.

The PP ceased to be the third political force in Las Cabezas de San Juan in the 2019 municipal elections, ceding this position to Active Neighbors around Las Cabezaswhich won 2 councilors in the second call to which it attended, which represented 6.53% of the votes and 439 more ballots than in 2015, totaling 946 votes, with the PSOE being the two political forces that rose with compared to the 2015 elections. The last place was occupied by the PP, which lost a councilor, leaving only one and with 345 fewer votes, which meant 511 ballots and 7.19% of the votes of the cabezos.

In the last 2019 elections, participation in Las Cabezas de San Juan when according to the INE it had 16,417 inhabitants, was 55.38%, 5.68 points less than in the 2015 elections.
