Today, Saturday, a large-scale gathering of conservative and progressive groups was held in central Seoul.

While strongly criticizing previous and incumbent presidents, they argued otherwise on responsibility for the October 29 disaster.

Essay exams were also held at major universities in the city, causing traffic congestion throughout the city.

Reporter Lee Yoo-kyung covered the story.

This afternoon, in front of the Sungnyemun Gate in Seoul.

Protesters holding pickets strongly condemning Yoon Seok-yeol’s rule filled the 8-lane boulevard.

They criticized the current government, saying it was showing a mess in state affairs, and urged the truth about the October 29 disaster that took place in Itaewon.

“We are all victims of the disaster. Now we are all in mourning.”

About two hours ago, rally participants from conservative groups such as the Freedom and Unification Party filled the streets of Gwanghwamun.

Participants called for an investigation into former President Moon Jae-in and Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myeong, and criticized the demonstration by progressive groups.

“The Itaewon Incident. The President is responsible, Minister Lee Sang-min is responsible, and the media keeps bringing them there…”

The candlelight vigil is expected to march to Yongsan after the rally and surround the presidential office, and the conservative group New Freedom Coalition is also organizing a counter-demonstration near the Samgak area.

While large-scale rallies continued every Saturday in downtown Seoul, downtown traffic was congested, with some traffic limited today in Sejong-daero.

Essay tests were also held in 9 universities in Seoul and vehicles and crowds gathered around the university grounds before and after the test.

“Now, let’s move slowly. There are a lot of people.”

At Sungkyunkwan University, near Daehangno, after the recital, crowds poured out, and the school and police were seen changing their exit order.
