Large fire in paper factory destroys two halls in Dongen

A large fire broke out at a paper factory on De Leest in Dongen on Saturday morning. This is reported by the Central and West Brabant security region. Two halls can no longer be saved. The smoke continues to diminish.

The fire brigade was alerted at half past eleven in the morning. An NL-Alert has been sent in the Dongen area with the request to keep windows and doors closed. Clouds of smoke were visible in Oosterhout and Teteringen and ashes were found in the vicinity of Gilze and Rijen.

When extinguishing the fire, the fire brigade receives help from the drone team, which tries to map the fire as well as possible.

All the people who were in the paper hall left after the fire broke out. A bystander saw large clouds of black smoke and the spreading fire. According to the bystander, it would be the paper factory Van Den Noort.
