The start of the season at the Langener Waldsee is coming up. There are some changes for visitors in the 2022 season.

Langen – Good news for bathing enthusiasts: The start of the season at the beach in Langener Waldsee and in the leisure and family pool on Teichstraße is imminent. This year there should also no longer be a limit on the number of visitors give. Meanwhile, there are some changes to the tickets.

The pool and hall management Langen (BaHaMa) GmbH has set Saturday, May 14th as the opening date. On the same date, the indoor pool on the Südliche Ringstraße will be closed. Both outdoor pools will then be open again daily from 8 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Last entry is at 7:45 p.m. Weather-related changes in the opening times are possible. According to the current status, the corona-related restrictions will no longer apply. In the leisure and family pool, all water attractions, the children’s pool, the diving platform, the volleyball field, the beach soccer field and the playground will be in operation again, and there will be no restriction on visitor capacity.

Langener Waldsee: Problems with stand-up paddlers

Tens of thousands of bathers can relax again at the Langener Waldsee with its large sandy beach – here too there are no longer any restrictions on visitor capacity. If it gets too hot for you, you can lie down under one of the large sun sails. The lido is also particularly popular because of its nudist section on the north shore. Around 70,000 square meters of monitored water area offer plenty of space for swimming and paddling, and the four bathing islands can also be used without restrictions. Just like the beach volleyball courts, table tennis tables or the play ship. The kiosk with the proven tenant and his team will also start operating again at the start of the season.

Hustle and bustle in the lido: It will soon look like this picture from summer 2020 at the Waldsee again – it’s probably even fuller. Because there is no longer a limit on the number of visitors this season. (Archive) © Strohfeldt

On the other hand, BaHaMa prohibits the use of so-called stand-up paddles, since the users of these boards repeatedly drive onto the company premises of Sehring and do not follow the specifications and announcements of the municipal operating staff. This is particularly dangerous as the safety of the athletes cannot be guaranteed. Leaving the pool boundary is also an administrative offence.

Langener Waldsee: Camping is also possible again in 2022

Camping at the Waldsee is also possible again. The campsite offers 80 pitches and space for twelve mobile homes. However, the camping season does not start until June 3rd. The tickets for parking, tent and motorhome pitches can only be booked online.

In addition to the car – there are 800 paid car parking spaces – and the bicycle, the Waldsee bus is another way to get to the lido: It runs from the Dreieich-Buchschlag train station on weekends, on public holidays and during the summer holidays every half hour – However, only in good bathing weather and hot temperatures. If you are good on foot, you can also walk the three-kilometre route from the Buchschlag or Langen-Flugsicherung S-Bahn stations.

Parking tickets only online

Single entry to the leisure and family pool costs five euros for adults. When booking online, the price remains at 4.90 euros including fees. Six euros are due at the lido cash register, online 5.90 euros. Single entry for children from the age of four, young people, pupils, students, trainees and people doing an FSJ or a federal voluntary service is three euros.

Anyone who wants to go into the water regularly should secure the new season tickets in credit card format. They are available in the indoor pool until May 13th and then at the cash desk of the leisure and family pool (95 euros for adults, 55 euros for beneficiaries). They will be sold for the last time on Tuesday, May 31st. The conditions for families with children up to the age of 17 are particularly favorable. Parents can swim for 65 euros for a season and add 35 euros for the first and 30 euros for the second child. If you have more offspring, you can provide them with tickets for free.
