Landovský, the current ambassador to NATO, will lead the Aspen Institute in Prague from August

David Konecký, the current senior director of the security and multilateral section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will replace Jakub Landovský as ambassador to NATO after five years. In a press release today, representatives of the institute announced this to ČTK.

Landovský, who in the past was, for example, Deputy Minister of Defense, worked in various capacities at the UN and since 2007 has also lectured at the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University, will become the executive director of the Aspen Institute Central Europe. Milan Vašina left this position in mid-February, who became the head of the office of President Petr Pavel.

The organization brings together experts from politics, business and public institutions and organizes conferences, seminars and discussions on current political and social issues.

“I am very happy about this offer, but I also feel a great responsibility, because politics and society on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean are going through a stormy period,” said Landovský. “I am convinced that we will overcome the current difficulties together, but we will have to find agreement not only within our country and our region, but also within Europe and, ultimately, between Europe and America. The Aspen Institute CE, as an interdisciplinary platform, can contribute to the search for this agreement,” he added.

“Jakub is a respected expert with rich experience and proven results in the state administration, business and academic sectors. He is an exceptional personality and leader who will contribute to the further development of the Aspen Institute in the Czech Republic and the entire Central European region with his skills, interest and experience,” said Pavel Řehák, chairman of the institute’s board of directors.
