LaLiga North America, a company owned by LaLiga and Relevent Sports Group, would be interested in bringing a Spanish league game to Mexican soil.
Although there is nothing concrete at this time, the group is already analyzing the possibility of including this option in order to increase the value of LaLiga’s broadcasting rights and to have a growth in the popularity of teams such as the Barcelona Y Real Madrid on Mexico
In an interview with the specialized site Sportico, Boris Gartner, executive director of LaLiga North America, expressed that Mexico is an important market for the Spanish league and they seek to increase its popularity among Aztec fans.
Gartner said that to achieve this they must bring LaLiga and its teams closer to Mexican fans and the game could be one of the keys to this.
In Mexico, soccer is sport number one, two and three. So the opportunity (to increase the popularity of the Spanish league) is different from that of the United States. We don’t have to boost (the popularity) of soccer. We just have to make sure we bring the league and the clubs closer to the fans, ”Gartner said in his interview with Sportico.

The manager pointed out that one of the priorities is to negotiate a new contract for broadcasting rights in Mexico, which Sky currently owns, and that this pact would include the production of television programs for Aztec fans.
Gartner also commented that holding the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, the United States and Canada will help in the quest to increase the popularity of one of the best leagues in the world in our country.
