The event took place on Sunday around 2 pm. On the lagoon the sunny weather was used by holidaymakers living nearby. There was a parked Ford Focus on a small hill near the beach. For unknown reasons, the car suddenly began to roll towards the reservoir, running over a sunbathing woman on the way.
The victim suffered numerous injuries, but thanks to the quick reaction of other people, she received help and was then transported to the hospital in Legnica, where she underwent surgery.
The ambulance service from Jawor, firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Department Męcinka and the police were called to the site, which immediately began to determine the circumstances of the event. However, the cause of the accident has not been confirmed so far.
– The car belonged to a family relaxing by the water. The circumstances of the incident are being determined, the press officer of the Jawor police, aspirant, told “Gazeta Wrocławska”. pc Ewa Kluczyńska.
It is very likely that the accident could have been caused by a child playing in the car who might accidentally release the shift lever. The car then began to slowly roll until it had gained enough momentum to reach the reservoir.
