Real Madrid started the year with a loss at Getafe. Carlo Ancelotti judge Madrid lost because of lack of concentration.
Madrid play their first game in La Liga after the Christmas break away to Getafe. Compete at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez Stadium, Sunday (2/1/2022) night WIB, The whites lost by a score of 0-1.
Getafe’s only goal was scored by Enes Unal in the ninth minute. He snatched the ball from Eder Militao in the Madrid penalty box before beating Thibaut Courtois.
Carlo Ancelotti assesses Madrid’s performance is not good. The Italian coach said the concentration of Karim Benzema et al had not fully returned after the holidays.
“We reacted well 10 minutes after the goal. Then we were a bit nervous, lost the ball too often and lost individual duels,” Ancelotti was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
“We gave them a goal through a player who usually defends superbly. There’s not much to say about the game other than it looks like we extended the holiday.”
“The team doesn’t look the same as before Christmas. We lacked concentration. We didn’t deserve to lose, a draw would have been fairer, but we gave them a goal and ended up losing.”
“Today’s team seemed to be on holiday. It’s not easy to play again after the holiday, but that’s just an excuse. We didn’t play well and like I said we didn’t deserve to win, but I don’t think we should have lost either. We dropped points and now have to look to the future,” said Ancelotti.
Despite losing, Real Madrid is still unshakable at the top of the Spanish League standings. Madrid lead with 46 points from 20 matches, eight points clear of Sevilla.
