“La Sous-Bocks Collection Exhibition: 400-500 Customized Coasters on Display at Scripts Gallery”

The Scripts gallery, 1 rue Pierre-Petit, is hosting an original exhibition entitled “La Sous-Bocks Collection” until Thursday, June 8.

The walls present between 400 and 500 coasters of different sizes, where the back has become the front after being customized by a designer. The idea came from Laurent Lolmède, cartoonist who has already come to Montluçon, notably in 2015, to draw and exhibit during the “Lèche-Vitrines” operation.

One, two, then ten…

One day, he drew on the back of a coaster, then he did two, then ten… All were drawn with the “Television” pencil. This pencil, long used by accountants, teachers and publishers, was used to add corrections or annotations. It is a “reversible” pencil that has two leads, one red and one blue, at each end. It has been adopted by many designers.

When Lolmède had some 200 coasters, he collected them in a book published by Éditions Alain Beaulet, Sous-Bocks Collection . It was a lot of fun and made readers want to do it too. And a whole wall is dedicated to them, in the second part of the exhibition. “It is therefore an exhibition which, in addition to being fun and collective, is evolving and interactive”. An invitation to visit a multiple popular culture where everyone is allowed to participate as they wish. Moreover, every day new coasters come to enrich it…

Convenient. Tuesday to Friday, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., or by appointment at 06.70.09.36.63.
