“La Grande Incruste”: Camille Combal, just for laughs

Since arriving at TF1 in 2018, it’s a flawless course for the little guy from Hautes-Alpes. With this feeling of having always been part of the chain’s DNA. Happy, kind, generous, Camille Combal tell this crazy adventure of The Great Incruste.

Who came up with the idea for the show?
We found that together. Xavier Gandon, the director of TV and digital antennas of the TF1 group, my friend Abdoul and myself. Then, we wrote to two with Abdoul. Especially during the first confinement. The idea is to entertain, to change your mind, given the crazy period we are living. We chose to become embedded in the whole world of television. The shows, the offs, the films, the series. We promise, we’ll be everywhere! We were able to shoot with the real hosts of the shows, real game candidates and friends who accompany me.

That is to say, concretely?
We have over thirty sketches. In particular a sequence Koh-Lanta. For that, we recreated the real advice of the show. We recreated the real decor, with the real one Denis Brogniart and with Claude, the show’s superchampion. I am also in a scene of Pulp Fiction, in another of The Avengers, I am also George Michael in the clip of Last Christmas Whams! We also imagined what is happening behind the scenes of TF1 and I will meet Nikos Aliagas, Miss France, Karine Ferri… We went down to Sète to shoot in the series Tomorrow belongs to us with Alexandre Brasseur, Ingrid Chauvin, Clément Rémiens. We also went to shoot in the real setting of the show’s morgue Balthazar with Tomer Sisley.

You also type the encrusted elsewhere than at TF1 …
Yes, the idea was to go explore the other channels like France 2 for Deal concluded where I am accompanied by Jean-Luc Lemoine, Monsieur Poulpe and Tom Villa. Or M6 where there is an encrust in Love is in the meadow. Everything is a pretext to hijack the shows and have a good time.

It was the desire to dress up and play a role that you liked?
Yes, it’s a piece of comedy, that’s why I went to Paris at the start. That’s what I like about entertainment: playing, wearing a wig, having fun, bringing friends over, writing sketches. This is a fun show.

Sounds a bit like your microswalks, “What does your brother think about that?” In “TPMP” on C8?
Completely, the game was very important. The exercise was fun to do because I didn’t know if it was a woman or a man and we were trying to surprise people. Over three seasons, almost all have signed the broadcast license.

Your news is also marked by the resumption of the game “Une famille en or”.
I know the American version worn by Steve Harvey who is a huge stand up artist. I like the Americans for that, they blow up the dikes. They are on stage, play in movies and host games. I never had the chance to see the version of Christophe Dechavanne and I was too small for that of Patrick Roy, but this game is an institution!

Who will be the voice over?
I have been recommended voices like those of Tom Cruise or from Harrison Ford, but I preferred a very special one that I love, that ofEddy Leduc, a comedian. He is a very, very light baritone, you will see …

What is it that amuses you so much about this game?
In my countryside, TV was almost the only way to be entertained. So knowing that I’m changing the minds of a few people is a privilege. And as with Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, it is the fact of playing and being with members of a family, some of whom remind me of my uncle, my cousin. I really enjoyed myself because I like to put people at ease and I also want them to win, up to 100,000 euros. They play to change car, career, that’s real life. This is the only game where it is not necessary to have general knowledge. Whoever has the most flair and the smartest can win!

When will the filming of “Carpool Karaoke” resume in “Plan C”?
We’re hot! We all really want to resume but it’s complicated. As soon as the conditions allow… My kif would be to go down to my South, meet Jul, Soso Maness from La Bande Organisée. I dream about it.

What future in radio after six years on Virgin Radio?
I had fun until the last minute, but I preferred to stop in time before people thought I was going in circles. I like to try things, put myself in danger, screw myself up too. I don’t want to be lukewarm, I’m not a tenth away from what I want to do! I want to offer podcast entertainment and so many other projects. But always entertain! I will not do my Tchao Pantin.

What are your earliest memories of TV?
I was running on my way home to see live The Big Show by Kad and Olivier on Comédie +. They were incredible actors. Also, the first time my head explodes is when I discover Dummies but not live, during specials. Because my father didn’t want to put the satellite dish at home. And now that we’ve left the house, he’s got it all set up, he’s got 400 channels. (Laughs.)

HIS DREAM INCRUSTES

At another time
The Prohibition era, Gatsby, the 1920s. The looks, both male and female, were gorgeous and the cars sublime.

In a movie
Back to the future. This is my favorite movie. I know the lines by heart. I’d take the DeLorean, pick a time, pick a place, steal the almanac, and become Biff Tannen. Biff Tannen is Donald Trump, in fact!

In a song
There is one that puts my hair down and talks about all my neuroses, it’s When I was a singer, of Michel Delpech. Or, for the sake of it, with The Organized Band, in the South, at the Velodrome stadium.

In a French series
Ten percent, the class! And I want my office facing Hervé’s (Nicolas Maury, editor’s note). (He begins to imitate her.)

In a foreign series
I’m phew right now The Crown. History to say that we have to be cooler with Diana and to prevent possible galleys for Harry with his costume parties.

In a one-man-show
The one of Richard Pryor. We haven’t done anything better, he’s able to portray all the characters he’s talking about, it’s so funny. And also that ofEddie Izzard.
