We are going to be good citizens! This is what the Bishop of Orihuela-Alicante, Jesús Murgui, proposes in his message at the beginning of Lent. Ultimately, what he asks Christians is to help, encourage and comfort others in the face of so much suffering and loneliness, as Jesus Christ would have done.
And that message of solidarity is very good, but you would have to ask the bishop, his sister and his brother-in-law, the vicar general; to the Bishop of Cartagena and the rest of the ecclesiastical leadership, if they believe that Jesus had skipped the queue to get vaccinated when it was not his turn. I do not know what the response of Bishop Murgui will be, who I suppose in his prayers will have asked the Most High.
Apart from the question and the answer, which I would really like to ask you, yesterday was a good day, since the vaccination of the 25,000 people over 90 years old who live in their homes in the Valencian Community began. Justice is beginning to be done with the older ones. They deserve it. Bishop Murgui also deserves it, but he is still 74 years old. The second dose will be due.
And the large dependents are also being vaccinated and, by the way, those who care for them should also be vaccinated with them. Those who take care of them physically. Not spiritually, monsignor.
