From January 1, 2022, one trip in public transport (metro, tram, trolleybus, bus) can cost UAH 20 in case of purchasing a single ticket. This was announced by the first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Nikolai Povoroznik, according to a press release from the Kyiv City State Administration.
“The current price in public transport does not correspond to the economically justified tariff for a long time. According to the calculations of the Kyivpasstrans KP, the economically justified tariff in ground transport is UAH 22.30 today. According to the calculations of the Kyiv Metro, the reasonable tariff in the metro is UAH 22,” Povoroznyk said.

However, the authorities are planning to keep the system of discounts for passengers.
According to Povoroznyk, if the fare is paid using the Card of Kiev, the cost of the trip will be 12 UAH.
For passengers who buy trips by replenishing an electronic ticket, the cost of a trip in public transport will be from 15 to 20 UAH: 15 UAH when buying 50 trips, 20 UAH when buying 1-9 trips.
There remains the possibility of purchasing monthly travel tickets with discounts. One trip with a travel ticket will cost from 14.20 UAH, depending on the type of travel pass. Also, tickets that are used from the moment of activation remain in circulation: for 24 hours, 48 and 72 hours.
The city also retains benefits for all socially vulnerable categories of the population.
“Currently, the people of Kiev have the opportunity to purchase trips in advance at a price of 6.50 UAH and use public transport for some time at the old prices,” Povoroznyk said.
On the procedure for increasing tariffs on November 16, public discussions will begin in the format of electronic consultations, which will last 15 days. It is planned to set new tariffs from 01.01.2022.
