“We sat at the table and spent the entire evening beautifully with Iva Janžurová and Jiřina Bohdalová,” said Karlovy Vary Governor Petr Kulhánek (for STAN).

“We had a nice chat about the festival, including previous years, the exhibition and their jingles and the like. We spent the whole evening conversing with them, and we just said hello to the other participants of the gala dinner,” continued the governor, who has been involved in the Karlovy Vary film club for decades, so he has an overview of the film as such.

“Both ladies love the festival and haven’t missed any of its recent editions. I was very impressed by how fresh they are,” stated Kulhánek, excited about the dialogue with the star Czech actresses who starred together, for example, in the poetic film Světáci.

Trout and beets
The gala dinner had a standard menu, which of course started with an appetizer. Salmon trout was served with marinated baby beets and dill curd.

The main course was beef tenderloin Wellington with potato confit and wild broccoli. At the end, there was a cottage cheese dessert with strawberries and oat granola Petit fours. “The dinner was tasty,” commented Kulhánek at the end.
