The Ukrainian delegation will not participate in the negotiations if Russia issues ultimatums, the minister assured.

Ukraine will not comply with ultimatums or Russian whims in negotiations to end the war, declared on Tuesday, March 1, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

“Negotiations are negotiations, and we will talk and look for solutions. But we will not comply with Russian ultimatums, whims,” ​​the minister said.

He noted that the Ukrainian delegation will decide on its position and, if necessary, will prepare for a new meeting with the Russian delegation.

“We are now analyzing what happened yesterday, the declared positions, the president is fully informed to the smallest detail about the conversation that took place yesterday. We will determine our position, and then we will, if necessary, prepare for a new meeting. We believe that such a meeting should take place, because Ukraine believes in diplomacy and we are ready for a diplomatic solution to this conflict,” Kuleba said at an online briefing on Tuesday.

Recall that the first round took place yesterday. The meeting identified a number of priority issues that can help stop fighting. The delegations returned to the capitals for consultations.

However, immediately after the completion of negotiations Russia stepped up shelling Ukrainian cities, killed dozens of civilians.

According to the media, second round of negotiations will take place tomorrow.
