Kuleba spoke about the strategy of foreign policy

The foreign policy strategy of Ukraine fixes the course towards joining the EU and NATO.

The non-aligned status of Ukraine remained in the past after the approval of the course towards joining the EU and NATO, as Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba recalled on Tuesday, December 14.

“The approved strategy of Ukraine’s foreign policy excludes the non-aligned status of Ukraine and defines one of the key areas of striving for NATO and the EU. The strategy leaves a multi-vector, non-aligned nature in the past,” he said.

Kuleba noted that one of the six directions of the strategy is “continuing the course towards acquiring full membership in the EU and NATO.”

The strategy also includes:

  • Ensuring independence and state sovereignty, restoring territorial integrity.

  • Counteraction to the aggression of the Russian Federation.

  • Promotion of Ukrainian exports and attraction of foreign investment.

  • Protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad.

  • Confirmation of the positive image of Ukraine in the world.

Recall Russia demands to withdraw the promise of Ukraine to join NATO and Georgia, adopted at the 2008 Bucharest summit.

NATO, however, said that they would not compromise with Russia on the law of Ukraine and Georgia will join the organization in the future.
