Kubica will again have the opportunity to sit behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen car. The Pole will appear in the car on Hungaroring on Friday. It will be a second chance for him. A week ago he took part in training before the Styrian GP. Then he had 18th time among all drivers, 0.3 seconds behind Kimi Raikkonen
Now Kubica is going to get into the Fina car and appear in training instead. A week earlier he was replacing Antonio Giovinazzi. Team leader Fred Vasseur emphasized that Kubica plays an important role in his team in improving the car.
“The rapid and effective development of C39 will be one of the key aspects of this competition,” said Vasseur. – And Robert is one of the greatest assets of our team in this matter. He did a very good job in Austria last week and I’m glad he’ll be in our car again. The data he provided to engineers proved to be very valuable.
Kubica himself also spoke about the Friday ride. – Driving one of the cars is always an amazing feeling, so I can’t wait for Friday – said the resident of Krakow. – Apart from emotions, we must not forget about the importance of car development, especially in this compressed season of 2020 – he said. – The team needs data and feedback. That’s why I’m here. Last time we had a very busy weekend and my goal is to help the team take another step forward here in Hungary.
