“KSFDC delays film release”; Director of the film “Divorzio”.

Criticism of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) “Women Directors’ Cinema” project. The director who directed the film as part of the project came out with a critique. It is assumed that KSFDC is deliberately delaying the theatrical release of the film he directed. The Mini IG director has spoken out against KSFDC. Mini directed the film Divorce as part of the Women Directors Film Project.

His film was completed before the Nishidho film. But now Nishiddo has come to the exhibition. Now they are trying to spread the word that the first film made under the project was Nishidho. KSFDC had announced several dates for the release of his film. But later all of these dates were changed, the Mini IG said.

His film was the first to be completed and censored. But now Mini is accused of neglecting the film out of personal enmity.

In 2019, KSFDC planned the project by announcing the assistance to the filmmakers’ film businesses. For this, the directors were first asked to send the scripts. From around 60 screenplays, two films called Nishidho and Divorce were selected for production. KSFDC provided assistance of Rs 1.5 crore for each project.

However, the chief executive of KSFDC N Maya told The New Indian Express that all allegations made by Mini are unfounded. They also made it clear that the company showed no bias towards the two films selected in the project and their directors.

The film cannot be distributed in the current situation only due to the lack of availability of theaters. The first film selected in the project is Nishidho. He did the filming and other tasks very well. It has also received praise from many quarters. They have set certain standards. That’s why Nishidho was decided to release first. Mini was convinced when he talked about it. The Mini movie will definitely be out. But N Maya also said that as producers, KSFDC has some limitations for releasing both films together.

He also said four more films are in preparation for release. The CEO said the films will be released individually and there is no basis for the current allegations.
