A great master of fantastic cinema, Canadian director David Cronenberg has become a regular on the Croisette even though he has never won the Palme d’Or. His latest film, the horror thriller “Crimes of the Future” brings together Léa Seydoux, Viggo Mortensen and Kristen Stewart, present around him this Monday evening for the official screening and in competition at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. Many personalities of the seventh art had also made the trip, including the American star Sharon Stone or Vincent Cassel – who has already toured with David Cronenberg in the past.

The synopsis: While the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the human body is subject to new transformations and mutations. With the complicity of his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), a famous performer, stages the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde shows. Timlin (Kristen Stewart), an investigator for the Office of the National Organ Registry, follows their practices closely.
