KPN announces Box 12 modem with WiFi 6 support – Computer – News

KPN has announced the Box 12, its new modem / router combination. The main improvement over the current Experiabox V10 is that it supports the 802.11ax standard, or WiFi 6.

In addition, television, telephony and internet on this modem all have their own status LED, so that it is clear whether they all work, reports KPN. In addition, the modem is made entirely from recycled materials.

The modem has of course connections for power and dsl at the back and also has four ethernet ports for internet, a WAN port and two telephony connections. There is also a USB-a port with USB 3.0 speed. That’s also an upgrade over the USB 2.0 ports on the current Experiabox v10. The modem is from the French company Sagemcom and does not support pair bonding.

1800 KPN customers have already received the new modem as part of a test. When it is ready, all new customers with an Internet subscription will receive the Box 12 and existing customers will gradually receive the new modem. A KPN modem is no longer mandatory: customers have had a free modem choice since the end of March.
