Kovid expansion in Dubai; Entertainment stopped | Duabi | Restrictions | Covid | Gulf News | News from Middle East

All entertainment in Dubai has been suspended in the wake of the Kovid expansion. The Dubai Media Office said the permit had been revoked. Meanwhile, the Dubai Health Authority has directed hospitals to suspend all non-essential surgeries for a month.

For the first time in a week, the number of Kovid victims in the UAE has risen to more than 3,000. The Dubai Media Office has announced that all entertainment programs will be suspended for public safety reasons. Permission has also been revoked for entertainment in hotels and restaurants. In the past three weeks, officials have shut down more than 20 companies in Dubai for violating Kovid law. Meanwhile, the Dubai Health Authority has instructed hospitals not to perform unnecessary surgeries until the 19th of next month. Restrictions do not apply to neurosurgery, orthopedic operations, cardiac and radiological treatments, removal of urinary stones and stents, and essential surgeries in general surgery, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and gynecology. The assessment is that this measure will help in caring for Kovid patients and equipping the health system for it. Gone are the days when most daily cases were reported since the Kovid outbreak began. It is in this context that the restrictions are being re-imposed.
