Kosovo will allow flights again from June

Secondos can breathe a sigh of relief: Kosovo wants to lift the restrictions on travel from Switzerland in June. Flights to Portugal are already possible.

It doesn’t just work with the summer holidays in France or Germany: Switzerland-Kosovars can also probably spend the summer holidays in their old homeland. Islam Spahiu, deputy Kosovar ambassador to Switzerland, announced to 20 minutes: “We will ease the entry restrictions from June. Normal flight operations can be resumed by June 15 at the latest. Tourists can also return to the country. » Switzerland opens its borders to Germany, Austria and France on this date.

Kosovo has already relaxed the quarantine requirement on entry. “Kosovar citizens who come in from abroad only have to be officially quarantined for one week instead of two,” says Spahiu. In June, however, the measure will surely cease to exist. “I assume that it will be possible to travel by car again.”

It also looks good for the Portuguese secondos: Portugal allows entry even for foreigners. The situation at the present time, however, is complicated for Spaniards: Citizens are allowed to enter the country, but must be in quarantine for two weeks from May 15. Swiss holiday home owners can only enter if they hold a residence card (tarjeta de residencia).

The situation is also difficult in the Corona crisis country Italy. Italian nationals are allowed to enter the country, but they have to self-isolate for 14 days. The situation could still change until midsummer.
