Korona, Sunndal | Student tested positive on Thursday: Consider the situation as clarified

On Thursday, Sunndal municipality reported that a student at Tredal school had tested positive for the coronavirus.

On Friday, the municipality believes that the situation is under control.

– We now consider the situation around Tredal school as clarified. All close contacts have been tested with a negative result. I want to thank students, teachers and parents for good cooperation, writes municipal chief physician Svein Anders Grimstad in a press release.

This week, the municipality has had two more positive tests. It is assumed, with a certain degree of uncertainty, that both of these are infected outside Sunndal.

None of these are seriously ill and are in isolation.

– One infected person has a larger number of close contacts in the workplace. The company’s management is informed and informs further down in the organization, writes Grimstad.

The municipality states that fully vaccinated close contacts (with two vaccine doses) do not need to do anything immediately, but that it is important to stay at home and get tested if you get symptoms of acute respiratory infection. It is sufficient to test yourself with a quick test.

– Vaccinated and unvaccinated close contacts must be tested as soon as possible; even if they have no symptoms. Quick tests are also sufficient here, Grimstad writes.
