Korn releases cover of The Devil Went Down to Georgia featuring rapper YelaWolf

Korn has just released a cover of the Charlie Daniels Band classic, The Devil Went Down To Georgia, with an appearance by rapper YelaWolf, exclusively through Bandcamp.

All proceeds from this title will be donated to Awakening Youth, a nonprofit organization dedicated to young people facing the loss of a parent through divorce, addiction, death, re-adoption or for other reasons.

This continues the relationship between Korn and Awakening Youth. The organization played an important role in the documentary Loud Krazy Love about guitarist and co-founder Brian “Head” Welch. Awakening Youth’s mission is to help young men and women at risk after the loss of a parent. The team offers personal and one-on-one support to encourage and motivate families and, ultimately, restore them.

At the same time, Korn pays tribute to Charlie Daniels, the author of the song in question, who recently died at the age of 83. This classic song, which is taken from Charlie Daniels Band’s 10th album, Million Mile Reflections (1979), tells the story of a despondent devil who arrives in Georgia in search of a soul to steal. The song landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has remained the band’s most popular song.

Korn has released his latest album, titled The Nothing, September 13, 2019 via Roadrunner Records & Elektra Records. The Nothing made a strong debut at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, generating 33,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of release.
