It is reported that Korea will provide Ukraine with an obstacle-clearing tank called ‘Rhino’.
It is expected to be used to remove land mines and secure mobility routes, and it is expected to be the most powerful weapon among the military supplies supported by our government so far.

It has been reported that the obstacle-clearing tank K-600, also known as ‘Rhino’, has been added to the government’s support list for Ukraine.
The ‘Rhino’ is equipped with a mine removal plow and digging arm on the K1A1 tank and is used to remove mines and various obstacles.
It moves forward by plowing gravel and the ground with a mine removal plow attached to the front of the vehicle, and has excellent protection, so it moves forward without hesitation even if a mine explodes.
In particular, the ‘magnetic mine neutralization equipment’ on the top of the plow can fire a magnetic field to neutralize magnetic mines blocking the front of the tank.
It is evaluated as a weapon that was desperately needed by the Ukrainian army, which was blocked by a 250,000㎢ minefield installed by the Russian military.

Some have pointed out that the ‘Rhino’ can be equipped with a machine gun as its basic armament, making it a de facto ‘lethal weapon’.
However, the government’s position is that its principle of not supporting ‘lethal weapons’ to Ukraine remains unchanged.
While portable mine detectors and protective clothing have already been provided to Ukraine, the trend of supporting non-lethal weapons is expected to continue for the time being.
