Koncert The Weeknd v Praze: Předpokládané dopravní komplikace a doporučení pro účastníky

The Weeknd Concert in Prague Expected⁣ to Cause Traffic Chaos

Prague, Czech Republic – The highly anticipated concert of R&B superstar The Weeknd, as part of his world tour The After ⁢Hours Tour, is set to take place today in Letňany. With a sold-out crowd of up to 75,000 people expected to attend, authorities are bracing themselves for potential traffic chaos similar to ⁢the recent Depeche Mode concert, which caused major transportation issues.

The Weeknd, known as one of the biggest hitmakers of the past decade, has ‍achieved numerous milestones in his career. Earlier this year, he became the first artist to surpass 100 million monthly listeners on the streaming platform Spotify.

The tour is a celebration of The Weeknd’s album “After Hours,” featuring the chart-topping single “Blinding Lights,” ⁢released‍ in 2020. It also includes tracks from his critically acclaimed album “Dawn ‍FM,” which was released in January last year. Joining The Weeknd‍ on all European concerts will be Montreal producer and DJ Kaytranada and American multi-instrumentalist Mike Dean.

However, the venue and its surroundings are facing‌ a shortage of parking spaces. As a result, the police will‌ close a section of Letňany to all vehicles except emergency ‍services, public transportation, and residents. Violeta Siřišťová, spokesperson for the Prague police, warned that anyone attempting to drive to the concert risks facing hours-long traffic jams.

Organizers are advising those traveling by car⁣ from distant regions to park at metro⁣ stations or other parts of Prague and use public transportation⁤ to reach Letňany. The Prague Public Transit Company will increase the frequency and duration of metro⁢ services before and after the event. Additionally, ⁤several city and suburban bus lines will‍ also have increased service.

Authorities are urging concertgoers to be aware of the expected traffic complications in Letňany this afternoon and evening. They strongly recommend utilizing public transportation for the commute‌ to the⁣ venue.
