Kominfo: The Key to the Success of Startup Studio Indonesia Located in the Coach Team : Okezone techno

JAKARTA – Intensive incubation program Startup Studio Indonesia (SSI) Batch 3 held by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Kominfo) The Republic of Indonesia has entered the Founder’s Camp and 1-on-1 Coaching session.

In this four-month session, 15 early-stage startups who were selected as participants had the opportunity to be coached and trained directly by coaches consisting of active and prominent startup founders and practitioners, such as Aviandri Hidayat (Vice President of Product Mekari), Dimas Harry Priawan (Co-Founder of Dekoruma), Maria Sahara (Group Product Manager of Xendit), and Italo Gani (Managing Partner of Impactto, as well as Advisor of the SSI program).

A golden opportunity for early stage startup founders to be able to learn and discuss directly with high-ranking top startups in Indonesia.

The main thing that will be trained in this coaching session is efforts to improve products and business models, as well as increase user loyalty/retention, before the startup enters the market expansion stage. This phase is also known as product-market fit, a term in which startup companies seek to solidify their digital product offerings, in order to meet user needs or demands.

“To choose the best coach team in Indonesia, we look at the track records of founders and startup practitioners whose companies have succeeded in reaching the product market fit stage. We also considered their expertise, specialization and role in bringing the startup to where it is today. Of course, we want to involve practitioners who have a lot of experience and practical knowledge, to be able to share knowledge with SSI Batch 3 startups,” explained Italo.

By upholding the concept of ‘more brainstorming, less classes’, Startup Studio Indonesia focuses on providing knowledge and practical insights through coaching sessions, instead of only theoretically. The SSI team also regularly assesses the coaches, to ensure that the knowledge shared can have a direct impact and solve the challenges faced by each Batch 3 participating startup.

The 1-on-1 Coaching process begins with a Diagnosis Session, where SSI Batch 3 participants will discuss pain points or challenges they have faced so far. After that, the SSI team will pair the participant with the most suitable coach. The curriculum obtained will also be personalized. In this way, SSI can become an intensive incubation program that is truly effective, because it adapts the curriculum to the needs of the participants, and not the other way around.

Every two weeks, SSI participants will have a session with Italo Gani, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of early-stage startup builder Impactto, to recalibrate, provide input or feedback, and discuss with SSI participants about the knowledge they have gained. from coaches.

“At the beginning of developing Dekoruma, we got a lot of useful advice and input from friends. Without them, we might have faced many problems that could have been prevented. Therefore, now is the time for us to contribute and help the next generation of startups to become even better,” said Dimas Harry Priawan, Co-Founder of Dekoruma who is one of the coaches.

Meanwhile, Maria Sahara as Group Product Manager of Xendit emphasized that although many startup founders start their companies with a big vision or dream, they must have a clear and specific execution plan in order to actually realize the desired changes.

Maria also advised startup drivers to continue testing their applications, competitor applications, or other alternatives on the market. This is important so that startup players can be more familiar with and plan what solutions can be improved and developed over time.

Aviandri Hidayat, Vice President of Product Mekari and one of SSI’s coaches, said that participants should continue to learn and innovate, as well as open their minds to various possibilities. “From my experience while growing a startup, the principle I want to emphasize is not to be too ‘in love’ with our own startup products. That is, we must remember that our business presence is to solve a problem for users. We must be open to all feedback, both from users, mentors, and friends. It’s not nice to receive criticism, but that’s what will allow us to always improve,” he said.

Help Startup to Advance Class

The SSI program is here to strengthen and complement the 1000 Digital Startup and Nexticorn National Movement programs which were previously launched by the RI Kominfo. Through this program, Kominfo targets to produce 150 digital startups that are able to develop their business scale, in terms of the number of users, total revenue, employment, and funding from Venture Capital by 2024.

This year, through a rigorous selection process, there were 15 early-stage startups out of a total of 5,723 registrants who were finally selected as participants. The startup list includes: ArrangeKuliner, AyoBlajar, Talk, Bolu, Eateroo, Finku, FishLog, Gajiku, Imajin, Keyta, KreatifHub, Powerbrain, Sgara, Soul Parking, and Zi.Care.
