The Dutch Alfred Schreuder and the Swede Henrik Larsson They will work until 2020 as assistant coach Ronald Koeman at FC Barcelona, the Catalan club announced this Friday.
“FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with Alfred Schreuder and Henrik Larsson for their incorporation to the technical staff headed by Ronald Koeman. Both have signed until June 30, 2022,” said Barça in a statement.
Larsson, a 48-year-old former Swedish striker, returns to Barça 13 years after leaving the club as a player. Larsson won the 2006 Champions League with Barcelona, two Leagues (2005, 2006) and a Spanish Super Cup (2005), under the command of another Dutch coach, Frank Rijkaard.
The Swede knows Koeman well, as they both met at Feyenoord (1995 and 1997).

After his retirement as a player in 2009, Larsson worked as a coach in his country, at Landskrona (2009-2012), Falkenberg (2013-2014) and Helsingborg (2014-2016, and 2019).
Alfred Schreuder (47) also started his coaching career right after hanging up his boots, in 2007.
He was first deputy at Twente in 2009, later becoming the head coach at the Dutch club, before being fired in 2015 for lack of results.

“An expert in strategy plays,” according to the Barça statement, he also put his knowledge at the service of Hoffenheim, where he was an assistant to Huub Stevens and Julian Nagelsmann. Hoffenheim gave him the reins of the first team in 2019-2020.
After having been Erik ten Hag’s assistant in 2018-2019 at Ajax, Schreuder will once again coincide with Dutch prodigy Frenkie de Jong at Barça.
