There, the particles interact with gases in Earth’s atmosphere to produce a beautiful light dancing across the sky. The green color that often appears in auroras comes from oxygen.

However, this oxygen also sometimes emits a red light. While nitrogen will produce blue and purple light on the aurora.

Speaking of aurora, on Earth there are two well-known aurora names. The first is the aurora Borealis. This phenomenon generally occurs in the sky at the North Pole.

The Aurora Borealis is seen with a reddish tint, generally occurring between March and April and September and October.
