KNMI Withdraws Code Yellow for Hail and Thunderstorms in Parts of the Netherlands

The KNMI has withdrawn the code yellow that applied to parts of the country on Monday. Due to heavy hail and thunderstorms, a warning was issued.

The weather warning was for Overijssel, Gelderland, North Brabant, Groningen, Drenthe and Limburg. Those provinces have the worst behind them.

The showers were accompanied by thunder and sometimes hail. The hailstones could be up to 2 centimeters in size. There was a strong wind with gusts of up to 65 kilometers per hour.

At the beginning of the evening, the code yellow only applied to the province of Limburg and was withdrawn just after 7 p.m. Those showers are now moving across Germany to the east.
