The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) has encouraged the prosecutor’s office to initiate criminal proceedings against three police officers of Dobele municipality for requesting and accepting a bribe, KNAB informed.
The KNAB also accuses one of the above-mentioned officials of inciting to commit a criminal offense.
KNAB started criminal proceedings on August 6 this year.
The materials of the criminal case contain information that one police inspector may have demanded a bribe from a natural person in the amount of 300 euros in order not to initiate criminal proceedings against a relative of the natural person.
After requesting the bribe, the second police inspector incited the bribe-claimer to accept the illegal benefit as well.
On the other hand, the third police inspector of Dobele municipality may have demanded a bribe in the amount of 1,500 euros from the same natural person so that legal proceedings would not be initiated against a relative of the natural person.
