Manchester City went public to report the incident and regret it.
After the meeting with Manchester City, which ended in a 4-1 victory for the Cityzens, Liverpool’s bus was hit by an object in a residential area, with the projectile causing damage to the Reds’ bus.
The information was given by City itself, in a statement issued on its social networks, regretting what happened. “Incidents of this kind are totally unacceptable, we strongly condemn the actions of the individual(s) responsible”, can be read in the aforementioned note, in which City is ready to give “full support” to a police investigation.
The Manchester club also apologizes, in the same statement, for the chants directed by its supporters at Klopp during the meeting. “Our club is disappointed to have heard inappropriate chants from our home supporters during today’s game. We regret any offense these chants may have caused and will continue to work with supporter groups and officials from both clubs to eradicate all the hate chants of this game”, writes City.
According to reports in the British press, this attack on the ‘Reds’ bus caused injuries to their coach, Jurgen Klopp.
