“Kitchen revolutions”. The chef of “Agata Bar” is dead. Gessler paid her tribute

Gorzów “Bar Agata” was founded in the mid-1960s. Currently, it is owned by Janusz Kałuziński, president of the sports club TKKF Stilon Gorzów. The chef has been working in the restaurant for the longest time, 40 years Marzennawho is helped by her daughter at work, Agnes. Despite the fact that the guests are satisfied with the quality of the dishes, the staff assures them, the restaurant is not profitable. The club manager was supposed to help save the business, Bogdan Jakubczak, however, and he doesn’t know how to revive the bar. That is why they decided to invite Magda Gessler with the team “Kitchenware revolution“.

Already at the entrance she found the place hot. Before ordering the first course, she asked the chef for a short interview. Magda Gessler noted the very low prices of the dishes, incl PLN 2 for the soup of the day. Then she ordered a few dishes, but clearly did not like her. Tasting a tomato, she said:

Later, she was surprised that Lazy dumplings were made without breadcrumbswhich is why she wished for egg chops earlier. These didn’t like her either, she said:

She assessed much better minced cutlets with a spatulawhich she assessed with the words:

She also reviewed well dumplingswhich – in her opinion – had too thick a crust, but no longer liked her dumplings with meat.

Magda Gessler also criticized dirty food coastersfor which she scolded Bogdan’s manager. She critically summed up the first visit with the words:

The next day, the host of “Kitchen Revolutions” explored the premises in more detail. She was shocked by the low salary of the chef, which was just over 2,000. zloty. The owner and manager, whom she pointed out:

In addition, she criticized Bogdan’s poor managerial skills. Moments later, she went to the kitchen to assess her condition. According to tradition, she demolished the furniture and identified the most sticky places in the staff’s workplace, besides, she had all old furniture and equipment thrown away. After a short inspection, she proposed changes. It left its current name to keep the history of the city alive. She decided that the restaurant would turn blue and yellow, and the menu would include traditional Polish dishes. Leaving the “Agata Bar”, a bit disappointed Magda Gessler said:

The next day, she took the entire team to the orchard, where specialists presented several varieties of apples, and then, together with the cooks of “Agata Bar”, they prepared a sweet dish. Having returned to the changed restaurant, the employees met Magda Gessler to complain about the arrears in receiving her salary. The upset star took the manager and the owner for an interview, during which she announced:

The enraged Magda Gessler decided to leave the “Agata Bar”, but before that, she broke the cup and kicked up the chair. Finally she shouted to the manager:

The next day she returned to the restaurant to continue the “Kitchen Revolutions”. The manager informed Magda Gessler that he already had money for wages for female employees, and she instructed him that he had to apologize to the ladies for any arrears or he would not run the business. He humbly obeyed the restaurateur and promised not to let similar problems arise in the future. Then the entire team headed for the city to invite guests for a welcome dinner. The evening meeting was successful.

A few weeks later Magda Gessler returned to the “Agata Bar”, which not only enjoyed warm reviews on the web, but most of all – great financial turnover. The star of “Kitchen Revolutions” ordered a few dishes to see if the employees listened to her culinary advice. She liked both the sandwich and the tomato soup, and she was delighted with the minced cutlet, saying:
